William Robert “Bobby” Shiver Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 12, 2025, at his home in Ideal, Georgia, after battling heart disease followed by complications from an auto accident.
A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at Still Water Chapel in Ideal, Georgia, on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
Bobby was born on June 27, 1967, at the navy base in Norfolk, Virginia. As a child, he and his family relocated to Orlando, Florida, where he grew up and eventually met his wife Lisa in 1989. They were married in 1990. In 1993, the family moved to Ideal, Georgia, where they built their life together.
Bobby worked for many years as a sod truck driver and most recently as a log truck driver. He attended Still Water Chapel in Ideal, where his faith and community brought him comfort and joy.
An avid outdoorsman, Bobby loved hunting and fishing. He was also a master on the grill and in the kitchen. Above all, he found his greatest joy by spending time with his grandchildren.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Dona Lisa Moore Shiver; his children Courtney Humphries, Joshua Shiver (Amber), Jacob Shiver, Wesley Derrington (Hayley), Jordan Shiver (Kasey) and Brooke Wright (Quin); and his cherished grandchildren Derek Brewer, Sahara Brewer, Lilly Shiver, Adalyn Shiver, Go-el Williams, Olive Williams, Hunter Derrington, Violet Williams, Sayge Gunther, and Jordan Shiver Jr. He is also survived by his mother Kathleen Kolund; his brothers James Shiver (Maria) and Bryan Shiver (Amanda); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Shiver Sr.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Ga.
