Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Watson-Mathews Funeral home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia.Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Garden Valley, GA.
Born on May 26, 1928 in Reynolds, Georgia to Robert Gray Jones and Mildred Terry Jones, he worked 39 years at Blue Bird Wonderlodge in Fort Valley, Georgia and 54 years serving the Lord as pastor.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Bellew Jones and sister, Sandra Jones.He is survived by three sons:Steve Eugene Jones (Sandy) of Unadilla, Georgia, Sidney Walton Jones (Becky) of Garden Valley, Georgia, and Scotty Paul Jones (Sheri) of Garden Valley, Georgia; one daughter: Patricia Jones Hood Hall (Raymond) of Garden Valley, Georgia; nine grandchildren: Robert Jones, Amanda Jones Richardson (Larry), Shawn McGowan, Raymond Hood (Rebecca), Cham Hood (Andrea), Barry Jones (Samantha), Marietta Jones, Gray Jones (Megan), and Natalie Jones Rodgers (Rick); nine great grandchildren: Alyssa, Logan, Jeremiah, Shelley, Richard, Randol, Hartley, Sutton and Anna; along with several nieces and nephews.
