Mary Carolyn Burchfield, 84, of Columbus, Georgia, died Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Magnolia Manor in Columbus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia with Father Tom Weiss officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 –7:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2023 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, Ga. 31907.

Carolyn was born July 21, 1938 in Montezuma, GA to the late James Bryant Burchfield, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Satterfield Burchfield. She spent most of her life in Montezuma, Ga. until 1996 when she moved to Columbus. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Bryant Burchfield, Jr.

She is survived by her brother, Gard Victor “Vic” Burchfield (Katie) of Midland, GA, niece, Jennifer Burchfield of Phenix City , AL, niece, Kacie Giroux (Brian) of Ventura, CA, grand-niece, Haley Dirkes and Hazel Giroux of Ventura, CA, grand-nephew, Brandon Giroux of Ventura, CA, niece, Vanessa Bourff (Paul, Jr.) of Juniper, GA, and grand-niece, Kayden Guthrie of Juniper, GA.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia is in charge of the graveside service.
