MONTEZUMA, GA - Mr. James Edward Taylor, 95, of Montezuma, Georgia entered into rest on Monday, June 25, 2018.
James was born in Montezuma, Georgia on July 17, 1922 to the late Daniel M. Taylor and Ethel Barrett Taylor.James was a WWII Veteran and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He also worked as a Field Representative for Southern Frozen Foods for over thirty years. James was a Mason and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia serving as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia with Rev. Mike Scarborough officiating the service.
Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by eight siblings; Anna Lou Crook, Pauline Parks, Thomas Taylor, Herbert Taylor, Ellis Meehan, Alyce Williams, Lillian Taylor and Estelle Hickman.
His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Mary Alice Kirksey Taylor of Montezuma, Georgia, three children; Mary Anne Jones (Lynn) of Montezuma, Georgia, James Edward Taylor Jr. (Michelle) of San Antonio, Texas and Thomas Daniel Taylor of Spring, Texas.Also surviving are five grandchildren: Amy Brown (Jason), Leigh Anne Bridges (Phillip), Erin Cox (Jason) James Taylor (Elizabeth) and Marissa Osborn (Bryan) along with eight great-grandchildren.
