IDEAL, GA - Howard Mitchell Priehs, age 80, of Ideal, GA passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Flint River Hospital in Montezuma, GA.

A Memorial service will be held 4 P.M., Saturday, April 23 at Stillwater Chapel, 3550 Highway 240 West Ideal, GA. 31041.A reception will follow at the Oglethorpe Seventh-day Adventist Church fellowship hall.

Howard was born on October 29, 1930 in Miami, FL to the late Henry Priehs and Genevieve Williams Priehs and moved to Macon County, GA at the age 12. He worked as a Deputy with the Macon County Sheriff's Department, Police Officer with the Oglethorpe Police Department and a Trucker with Southern Frozen Foods for 20 years. His hobbies included hunting, knife collecting, woodcarving, horseshoes, billiards and gardening. His interests were mission work, physical fitness and volunteerism.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Priehs of Ideal, GA; sister, Margie Smith of Panama City, FL; sister-in-law, Syble Priehs of Montezuma, GA; 6 stepchildren, Randy Minnick of Ideal, GA; Tom Oliver of Covington, GA; Mike and Donna Oliver of Ellaville, Ga; Tim and Sherry Oliver of Wetumpka, AL; Sally Glisson of Ideal, GA; Bill and Angel Oliver of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 1 niece, Donna and Scott Burt of Panama City, FL; 3 nephews, Gary Smith of Panama City, FL; Nat and Joyce Smith of Panama City, FL; Mitch Priehs of Montezuma, GA; A number of great nieces and nephews.
