Harold Parks Ham, 78, of Montezuma GA passed away on July 8, 2026. He was the son of the late Parks Ham and Mary Hicks Ham of Montezuma. He was also preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” Robert Ham.
Harold grew up in Montezuma and excelled at sports and excelled academically during high school and college. He was also musically talented and continued his love of learning throughout his life.
Harold worked as a professional semi-truck driver working long hours and developing friendships with other drivers over the years of working together.
Harold began competitive shooting in the 1990s and joined the South River Gun Club. In addition to becoming a Master Shooter, he developed close, life-long friendships with a group of other shooters that expanded to include their families. He affectionately called this group “his buddies.”
Harold loved his family and friends dearly. He was often described as a “good, kind man” who was quick to help and encourage others. We all enjoyed listening to his stories about his life experiences, his times with his friends, and his latest pursuit of learning something new.
He is survived by his sister Martha Ray Ham Weidley of Hixson, TN; nieces Erin Weidley McKee (Matt) of Lookout Mountain, TN and Lisa Weidley of Hixson, TN; great-nephew Jack McKee of Lookout Mountain, TN; sister-in-law Rev. Jennifer Boyce Ham of Atlanta, GA; and his extended family of “his buddies.”
His family would like to thank the staff at the Montezuma Health and Rehab Center for the care they gave Harold while he was a patient there.
Harold touched the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
