Mrs. Florence Frances Cromer, born Florence Frances Duckworth, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Magnolia Manor in Americus, Georgia. She was 85.

Mrs. Cromer was employed by Cargill during her working years. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, and yard selling. She was also known as a wonderful southern cook, and she especially treasured time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, David Hutchens of Montezuma, Georgia; her daughters, Billie Sue (Tony) Underwood of Ellaville, Georgia and Betty Sue Hufstetler of Plainville, Georgia; and her grandchildren, Christi Underwood, Michelle Wiggins, Ashley Lambert, Heather Payne, Hannah White, and Taylor Hutchens. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her family was an important part of her life, and those who knew her will remember the care she gave, the meals she prepared, and the time she shared with the people she loved.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Hutchens and W.T. Cromer; by her parents, Sam Duckworth and Lessie Odom Whittington; brother, Jewel Peppers; sister, Pauline Cromer and by her grandchild, Josh Hutchens.

The family would like to thank and recognize Victor and Cathy Weaver for all their care shown to Mrs. Florence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home, 322 N Dooly St, Montezuma, Georgia 31063. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home, 322 N Dooly St, Montezuma, Georgia 31063. Burial will  be in the family plot at Bertha Dozier Memorial Gardens following the funeral service. 

Florence Frances Cromer will be remembered for her faith, her love of family, and the warmth she brought to everyday life. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
