Evie Bartlett

Mrs. Evie was born September 16, 1942, in Montezuma to Doris Layfield Miller and the late Johnny Ike Layfield. She loved the Lord and was a member of Stillwater Chapel in Ideal, Georgia.She worked as an inspector for Southern Frozen Foods and Agra Link for over 27 years. Mrs. Evie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma. The family will receive friends at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Rev. Roy Peterson will officiate the service
Mrs. Bartlett will lie in state for viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. April 23, 2021 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Billy Joe Bartlett of Montezuma, Georgia; two children: Williams Thomas Bartlett (Candis) of Gray, Georgia and Sandra Lynn Goodwin; her mother, Doris Layfield Miller of Marshallville, Georgia; seven grandchildren: David Lewis Goodwin, Destiny Brooke Goodwin, Tyler Michael Bartlett, Kelly Nicole Collier (Jarrod) and Krista Lauren Lyons (Otis).Also, surviving are eight great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Along with her father, Johnny Ike Layfield, she is preceded in death by a brother, James Ralph Layfield.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Stillwater Chapel, 3550 Highway 240 West, Ideal, Georgia 31041.
