MARSHALLVILLE, GA - Mrs. Etheleen Tyson Garrison, age 95, of Marshallville, GA, formerly of Tifton, GA passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, August 1, 2013 at The Oaks Nursing & Personal Care Home in Marshallville, GA. Local services are scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2013; visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Ga followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Ga with Rev. Christy Bandy officiating.
Services in Tifton, Georgia are scheduled as follows; visitation will be held at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals in Tifton from 3-4 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 followed by a graveside service at 4 p.m. at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton with Elder Charles Tyson officiating.
Mrs. Garrison was born February 17, 1918 in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Joseph Thomas Tyson and Polly Ann Elizabeth Swafford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Andrew Garrison and twenty-eight siblings. Mrs. Garrison was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Old Valley Grove Baptist Church in Irwin, Georgia.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Margean (Gable) Thompson of Vero Beach, FL, Joyce (Robert) Robinson of Tifton, GA, and Glennie (Bill) Barr of Marshallville, GA; seven grandchildren and sixteen great- grandchildren.
