Emily Hammock Harvill

Emily Hammock Harvill, age 102, of Oglethorpe, Ga. passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Mt. Zion-St. Luke Lutheran Church in Oglethorpe, Ga. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM to 3 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall.

Emily was born on October 25, 1922 in Oglethorpe, Ga. to the late J.W. Hammock and Minnie Lou Williams Hammock. She loved taking care of her family and was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, shopping, cooking and painting. She was a member of the Oglethorpe Garden Club for over 50 years. Emily also was the oldest living member of Mt. Zion-St. Luke Lutheran Church in Oglethorpe, Ga. She was very dedicated to her church and loved all that attended.

She married the love of her life when she was 17 and was married for 71 years. Dan and she traveled to every state in the United States except Hawaii. They also traveled to Europe to visit their son, daughter, and their families.

Mrs. Harvill is survived by her three children, Dan Harvill, Jr. (Shirley), Crystal Pinsky (Martin) and Andy Harvill (Carla) and eleven grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren and six great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Harvill, parents, J.W. and Minnie Low Williams Hammock; and two brothers, Everett and George Hammock.

Flowers are accepted as well as donations to the Mt. Zion-St. Luke Lutheran Church Foundation Fund.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Ga.
