Dorothy “Dot” Hawk, age 89, of Montezuma, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Cedar Valley Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Pastor Damon Fountain will be officiating the service.
Dorothy was born on January 7, 1936 to the late Pierce Sylvester Pike and Alpha Leona Mitchell Pike. She was a faithful member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church for 50 years. She enjoyed many hobbies such as shopping with her sisters, dancing, and going on cruises. She was a hairdresser for almost 60 years where she loved her loyal customers dearly. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Eugenia “Vicki” Nelson, Doug Hawk (Jessica), and Ricky Hawk (Wanda); sister, Brenda Oglesby (Terry); four grandchildren, Gabby Hawk, Finn Hawk, Ashlee Hill (Scott) and Haylee Ward (Brad); and a host of nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Dot is preceded in death by her parents, Pierce and Alpha Pike; husband, Douglas Hawk Sr.; and sisters, Patsy Skipper and Elizabeth Melton.
A special thanks to Jennifer Butcher, Meredith Thompson, Makayla Apperson, and Mollie Butcher for being such a special part of Dot-Dot`s life.
