Visitation will be from 6 PM – 8 PM, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA.
Graveside services with masonic rites will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, 3969 Mercer University Drive in Macon, GA.
Mr. McCommon was born on December 10, 1936 in Bibb County, GA to the late Jewett and Rozelle Windham McCommon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Faye Weeks McCommon. He graduated from Lanier High School for Boys in Macon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marshallville, Masonic Lodge #65 of Montezuma, Scottish Rite Valley of Macon, Al Sihah Shrine Temple of Macon, Macon Provost Guard serving as Past Captain, Past Major of Uniform Units and Past President of Southeastern Provost Guard. He was retired from United States Coast Guard and Robins Air Force Base.
Mr. McCommon is survived one son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Martha) McCommon of Gulfport, MS and two grandchildren, Sherry (Joe) Bowen of Gulfport, MS and Tech. Sgt. Steven (Amanda) McCommon of Little Rock, AR; two great grandchildren; brother; Jerry McCommon ofMilledgeville, GA, several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends also survive.
