Mrs. Montgomery was born July 10, 1942 in Montezuma, GA to the late Henry Dock Whittington and Bertie Lee Bennett Whittington. She attended Crossroads United Methodist Church in Perry. Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Joe Wilkes; a son, Bobby Joe Wilkes a sister, Vivian McChargue; and her second husband, Warren Arthur Rodgers, Sr.
Mrs. Montgomery's survivors include her husband, Dean Montgomery of Marshallville, GA; seven children, Lisa Darlene Rodgers of Andersonville, GA, Connie (Ricky) Gibson of Andersonville, GA, Donna Rodgers Singleton of Perry, GA, Billy (Susie) Wilkes of Westchester, OH, John (Lea) Rodgers of Perry, GA, Arthur Lee Rodgers of Montezuma, GA, Warren Arthur Rodgers, Jr. of Ellaville, GA; and three step-children, Pete (Laura) Montgomery of Etters, PA, Maureen (Michael) Minielli of Staten Island, NY, and Michelle Montgomery of Melbourne, FL. She is also survived by a sister, Lillian (Roy) Crosby of Americus, GA; a brother, Walter (Nettie) Whittington of Moultrie, GA; twenty-seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
