What to Bring to the Funeral Home

WHAT TO BRING TO THE FUNERAL HOME

Below is a list of common items and information that will be needed during your appointment with the director at the funeral home.

  • Clothing (including undergarments, shoes are optional. We prefer that you choose clothing with long sleeves and higher necklines for women)
  • Dentures and eyeglasses (if applicable)
  • Social Security Number 
  • Date and place of birth 
  • Full name of both parents (including mother's maiden name) 
  • Veterans discharge papers (DD214 – For burial in Andersonville National Cemetery & Military Honors)
  • Recent or clear photograph (photo should show how hair should be styled and for cosmetics)
  • Religious affiliation with clergy name and phone number 
  • List of pallbearers (if applicable) 
  • A collection of valued photographs (30-50) for DVD Memorial Tribute 
  • Obituary Information – We will help you compose the notice when your meet with us at the funeral home (Example: names of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and spouses.)

Each newspaper has different cut-off dates and times to publish obituaries. We cannot guarantee any publication but are happy to assist you in placing an obituary.
